Subject: Bullying Documentary

Dear Deb Woodward

You may recall I wrote to you earlier this year regarding Stories of Us and our Bullying Prevention Film Competition –
conducted in partnership with the American School Counselor Association? I am the founder of Stories of Us, an
initiative centering on films produced with middle school students.

I am currently developing a documentary special on bullying in association with PBS and I'm hoping you may be able
help us in our search for a feature story for the documentary.

An Imbalance of Power is a one hour documentary which takes an inside look at bullying through the eyes of young
people, providing a rare insight into a world so often obscured from adult eyes. We are seeking the participation of
a student who was the victim of a severe case of bullying for the feature story in the documentary. The victimized
student and family must be willing to share their story in an effort to help others understand bullying and how it
might be prevented. We would also need to interview the students responsible for the bullying. Given my history in
bullying prevention, the participants can be assured their involvement would be handled with sensitivity and
integrity.

I am hoping you might be able to circulate a request to your members? If they know of a student who may be
appropriate for the documentary and be willing to participate, could they please contact me via email
chris@storiesofus.com

As you can imagine the need to include the bully's perspective requires someone that has learnt a lesson, and is
willing to reflect on their misguided past behavior to help others understand the bullying dynamic.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
