Overall Governing Council for ALL counseling divisions.  
Kansas is a part of the Midwest Region of the American Counseling Association (ACA).  The other three regions are
the North Atlantic Region, the Southern Region, and the Western Region. The Midwest Region serves those ACA
members who live and work within the Midwest region of the United States.

Kansas Counseling Association is the Kansas Governing Council of all of the following Kansas Counseling
divisions.  The KCA President is Jim Flax and if you would like to email him

***You must be a member of KCA before you can belong to any other division within the KCA.

The KCA organization is divided into REGIONS.   Membership in each region is not confined to
geographic boundaries. Boundary lines depicted above are approximations. Looking at the map below,
you can see which region you would belong to.  Each one of these regions have district meetings that
help School Counselors connect with each other and share resources.  Each region has meetings in the
fall and a spring meeting at the KCA spring conference.  The Regional Presidents are listed below and
they would love to hear from you to share when they are meeting and to involve you in email contact.

Kansas School Counselor Association (KSCA) provides a common framework for all
professionals engaged in pupil services work.  You are on the KSCA website right now!  If you would like more
information about why joining KSCA is a good idea, please go to the Leadership Roster and email some of the
officers -we'd love to have you join and more than that, we think you would find it very worthwhile.

Kansas Career Development Association (KCDA) is an organization of individuals
concerned with the vocational guidance and career development
of individuals in our work oriented society.

Kansas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (KACES) is organized
to provide leadership in promoting professional standards
in the preparation and supervision of counselors.

Kansas Mental Health Counselors Association (KMHCA) is an interdisciplinary
division dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of mental health counseling.

Kansas Association for Specialists in Group Work (KASGW) represents counselors
who seek to assist a variety of individuals through the promotion

Kansas Association for Adult Development and Aging (KAADA) provides a resource
for those professionals working with the aging adult population and families.  The President of

Kansas Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (KAMFC) provides
developmental and educational support and resources to enhance marital and family
quality in Kansas.  The President of KAMFC is Mick Tenner and can be reached at

Kansas College Counseling Association (KCCA) is an organization for any postsecondary college
counselor endeavoring to foster student development.
